Notes: The scarcest and most coveted of all instrument tonewoods, Brazilian Rosewood is renowned for its brilliant, bell-like tone, and dramatic highly figured grain, with highlights ranging from deep purple to cafe au lait. Under strict export embargo since the late 60's, Brazilian Rosewood has skyrocketed in price as old stock reserves have become increasingly depleted over the years. Makers lucky enough to have a remaining stash charge a king's ransom for the material as a custom upgrade, and most offer it rarely if at all.

Taylor introduced the Grand Auditorium body in 1994, as hybrid of the Dreadnought and the Grand Concert (000 or OM) styles. The resulting instrument is a uniquely versatile guitar, and Taylor's most popular model. Equally at home with flatpick and fingers, the 800 series has become the go-to guitar for touring pros requiring one guitar to do it all. The 814 is their top of the line model, and only a few select examples have ever been crafted with true Brazilian Rosewood.

We are pleased therefore to offer this outstanding instrument, in absolute showroom condition. The body is highly figured, and ranges in color from a medium coffee to deep purple, with dramatic bookmatched grain figure near the endblock, and a graceful cursive design applied near the neck heel.

Neck profile is an elegant gentle D, with smooth low action over perfectly polished vintage style fretwork. Taylor's unique body profile and bracing produce string balance superior to most conventional dreadnought designs; the voice is clear and ringing, with deep powerful bass, and throbbing sustain. Meticulously maintained in 100% original condition, the instrument is free of playwear, and is supplied with its pristine original hardshell case.

Produced in very limited numbers, these Brazilian 800 series are long out of production, and represent the most sought-after version of this classic model. One only: call now.

Setup: This instrument is strung with medium gauge bronze strings (.013-.056). The guitar will accommodate lighter or heavier gauge strings, according to preference.

Case: Original deluxe Taylor hardshell case with plush lining.
