Materials: Solid mahogany neck; solid rosewood fingerboard; arched flamed maple top, sides and back; dual-parallelogram mother of pearl fingerboard inlay and thistle peghead inlay; triple bound top, bound back.

Hardware: All original hardware includes nickel zig-zag trapeze tailpiece; nickel Tunematic adjustable bridge; twin P-90 single coil pickups and electronics; wide beveled 5-ply pickguard; gold bell knobs, nickel Kluson single ring tuners, truss rod cover.

Notes: Since its introduction in 1949, the Gibson ES-175 has been the most popular jazz guitar in the world. Equipped with Gibson's legendary P-90 single coil pickup, the 175 defined the sound of the bebop era, with its peerless clarity, detail and extended frequency response. The twin P-90 version of the model was introduced in 1953, but lasted only four short years in production.

Responding to demand from traditional players, Gibson in 2006 released a small number of faithful reissues of this classic model. Designated ES-175P, the guitar has the twin P-90s, trapeze tailpiece and single ring tulip key tuners of the mid 50's. This example is in immaculate 100% original condition, free of pick, buckle, thumb or fingerboard wear, with gleaming original vintage sunburst finish. The fingerboard is the full 1 11/16" width, with a gentle medium 'C' neck profile that sits easily in the hand. The top and back show fine flame figure in the arched maple, and with smooth 50's style medium frets under bright nickel roundwound strings, the fingerboard is utterly effortless to play.

This limited edition guitar is no longer in production, and have become instant collector's items. A rare and attractive example of where modern jazz guitar began.

Setup: This instrument is strung with medium gauge nickel roundwound strings (.012-.054). The guitar will accommodate lighter or heavier gauge strings, according to preference. String action is set at 5/64" to 6/64" at the 12th fret, with moderate relief for acoustic playing with medium strings. The action may be lowered or raised to your requirements with the adjustable bridge.
