Notes: Since its introduction in 1949, the Gibson ES-175 has been the most popular jazz guitar in the world. Originally fitted with a single P-90 pickup, the 175 added a second pickup by 1951, and humbuckers by 1957. The mahogany neck is a feature of the classic models of the 50's and 60's , and produces an instrument that is distinctly lighter in weight, and notably better balanced.

This example shows particularly intense tiger flame maple in the top, back and sides. She's in superb condition, all original, and free of pick, buckle, thumb or fingerboard wear. The top is finished in a classic vintage sunburst, showing off the deep rollers in the maple top and back. With pristine medium jumbo frets, and a gentle C profile neck, this classic guitar is utterly effortless to play.

The 24 3/4" scale is fast and nimble, the twin '57 Classic PAF humbuckers are rich and sweet, and the 16" body is easy to cradle and substantially resistant to feedback. Supplied with original papers and truss rod wrench, all included in the deluxe black plush Gibson logo arched hard shell case with satin slipcover.

A classic instrument in a distinguished lineage that spans a half century of hard-working guitars: call now.

Setup: The frets have been precision leveled, recrowned and polished as needed; trussrod tension and neck relief adjusted; bridge height adjusted; bridge compensation set; string slots at nut and bridge inspected and recut as necessary; bridge foot contour inspected and fit to top as necessary; bridge wheels and tuners lubricated; fingerboard and bridge oiled; body and neck cleaned and hand polished.

This instrument is strung with medium gauge nickel roundwound strings (.013-.056). The guitar will accommodate lighter or heavier gauge strings, according to preference. String action is set at 5/64" to 6/64" at the 12th fret, with moderate relief for acoustic playing with medium strings. The action may be lowered or raised to your requirements with the adjustable bridge.

Case: Original deluxe arched plush lined Gibson logo hardshell case.
