Notes: Bill Comins has been making master quality instruments by hand at his Pennsylvania workshop for over three decades, and building in the process a formidable reputation for meticulous detail and precision craftsmanship. Using the design concepts of Bob Benedetto as a starting point, Comins has evolved a line of instruments that reflect both his personal vision and his high standards for fit, finish and tone.

This guitar is a rare example of his Lyrist model, a classic solid body electric crafted of all solid tonewoods, including a figured mahogany body with a highly flamed tiger maple top. The chamfered cutaway and subtly shaded sunburst are evocative of violin aesthetics, while retaining the sustain and feedback resistance of classic LP style solid bodies of the late '50s.

The Peter Florence '59 Voodoo PAFs feature Alnico 3 magnets in the neck position and Alnico 5 at the bridge, for tonal response that retains bass clarity at lower volumes, yet crunch and sustain when cranked. Many feel these pickups are among the closest to true vintage PAFs ever made, and since the builder's passing have become notably collectible.

The neck profile is a classic gentle C, perfectly tapered for effortless play, with smooth, low action over a fresh high-precision setup. Custom upgrades to this example include the AAA maple top, flamed maple binding, and hand turned ebony knobs.

Comins guitars are rarely offered for resale, and this model is a particularly scarce example of his craft. Built like a fine Swiss watch, the Lyrist represents a rare opportunity for the discriminating player. We are delighted to find this gleaming example in immaculate 100% original condition. One only: call now.

The action may be lowered or raised to your requirements with the adjustable bridge.
