Notes: Few have done more to further the craft of the modern archtop guitar than California luthier Tom Ribbecke. Since founding his first workshop in San Francisco in 1972, Tom has produced not only master quality instruments but master quality luthiers themselves, in workshops and videos that have made him a legend among builders worldwide. Now relocated to scenic Sonoma County, Ribbecke continues to produce hand built masterworks of stunning quality for a few lucky players each year.

This magnificent guitar is a rare example of his Phoenix model, and is constructed of staggering AAAA Bigleaf flame maple, hand carved solid Sitka spruce, and hand crafted ebony hardware. The 16" slimmed depth body is X-braced, tap tuned and finished in a lustrous sunburst, subtly shaded from rim to rim. The neck is carved of true tiger maple, and the instrument sports presentation grade appointments like the multi-ply birdseye maple headplate, and 7 ply binding extending even to the soundholes, which are trimmed in extravagant curly Koa, along with the top and back.

At just 5lb. 15oz. the guitar is blissfully light in weight, and the slimmed depth body is a joy to hold, on the lap or the strap. The neck has a gentle D profile, with a generous 1 3/4" nut, and a firm, solid feel, with smooth low action over a fresh high precision setup. The voice has excellent warmth and sustain, and the wax potted Alnico 5 Golden Age humbucker is smooth and faithful. A rare opportunity to jump the queue, and grab a handcrafted classic at an unbeatable price. We are pleased to offer this outstanding creation in showroom condition. One only: call now.

Setup: This instrument is strung with .012 nickel roundwound strings, with action set at 4/64" to 5/64" at the 12th fret. The action may be lowered or raised to your requirements with the adjustable bridge.

Case: Original deluxe arched plush lined hardshell case.
