Materials: Arched spruce top, arched flame maple back and sides; solid African mahogany neck with adjustable truss rod; solid ebony fingerboard; abalone fingerboard and peghead inlay; 7-ply bound body, bound headstock, fingerboard, and f-holes.
Hardware: All original gold hardware includes Ibanez Silent 58 Alnico V humbucking pickup, Gotoh 510 21:1 tuners; solid ebony tailpiece; adjustable compensated Gotoh Tunomatic style bridge; triple bound tortoise pickguard; Sure-Grip volume and tone knobs. Gibson '57 Classic PAF.
Notes: Guitar master Pat Metheny began his career with vibist Gary Burton, and went on to record with such luminaries as Herbie Hancock, Jim Hall and a host of the world's top jazz performers. With multiple gold albums to his credit, Methey is the only artist to win Grammy awards in no less than ten categories.
Designed and played by the artist, the PM-200 is the top line Metheny model, with a fully hollow 16" body, 24 3/4" scale, and solid ebony fingerboard. The arched maple body provides enhanced feedback resistance and structural stability, and the guitar is fitted with a custom gel-potted Silent 58 Alnico V humbucking pickup, for whisper quiet performance and superior fidelity.
All gold hardware includes Gotoh 510 tuners, with unmatched 21:1 gearing, the smoothest available, and Ibanez' signature Sure-Grip volume and tone knobs.

Setup: Trussrod tension and neck relief adjusted; bridge height adjusted; bridge compensation set; string slots at nut and bridge inspected and recut as necessary; bridge foot contour inspected and fit to top as necessary; bridge radius inspected and recurved as necessary; bridge wheels and tuners lubricated; fingerboard and bridge oiled; body and neck cleaned and hand polished.
This instrument is strung with medium gauge roundwound strings. The guitar will accommodate lighter or heavier gauge strings, according to preference. String action is set at 4/64" to 5/64" at the 12th fret, with moderate relief for acoustic playing with medium strings. The action may be lowered or raised to your requirements with the adjustable bridge.
