Notes: Spawned from the masterful luthiery of George Lowden, Avalon guitars has become the leading makers of premium custom guitars in the UK and Ireland. Renowned among flat top players, Avalon branched into innovative nylon-string instruments some years ago, developing a 'jointless' crossover soundboard bracing system, which allows the soundboard to respond vigorously throughout the frequency range.

The predecessor to their current Fusion Series guitars, the Avalon Golden Gate Jazz model was a limited run using lustrous Monterey cyprus, storm fallen from Golden Gate Bridge park in San Francisco. With a top of solid bookmatched Englemann spruce, the guitar is fan braced in classical style, and bound with handsome figured Irish sycamore, a variant of curly maple.

A hybrid design, the guitar is particularly well suited for bossa nova and fingerstyle jazz, offering a warm rich tone without sacrifice of range, comfort and playability. The 14 fret body and Venetian cutaway allow unrestricted access to the full 20 frets, and the comfy 1 7/8" nut width is particularly suited to the preferences of contemporary players.

At just 3lb. 9oz, the instrument is exceptionally lightweight and well balanced, and features a handsome matte finish throughout. This rare example is in superb 100% original condition, plays flawlessly with a fresh high-precision setup, and is an excellent choice for the steel string player who wants warm traditional tone, with a player-friendly neck.

A top flight performer and an absolutely outstanding value. One only: call now.

Case: Original black deluxe plush lined hardshell case.
