Notes: From hs workshop in Allen Park, Michigan, luthier Gary Zimnicki has created meticuously crafted instruments in a variety of styles for discerning players wordwide. Handcarved of spectacularly extravagant fiddleback and tiger flame maple, the Zimnicki Solo is a tribute to the legendary D'Aquisto model, one of the most innovative archtop designs of the contemporary era. At just 5lb. 12oz, the instrument is exceptionally lightweight, especially for a full depth super jumbo 18" guitar.

Back and sides are built of AAA bookmatched flame maple of sumptuous depth and intensity, and the X braced soundboard is hand carved of solid bookmatched tap tuned Sitka spruce. The neck is equally well crafted, with an elegant, gently flattened profile that is notably easy to play, with smooth low action over a solid ebony fingerboard. Designer touches include all handmade ebony hardware, highly figured Circassian elm burl headplate, and the sort of meticulous fit and finish found only on the finest luthier built instruments. The voice is full and resonant, with excellent power, balance and projection.

This rare example is in superb condition, 100% original, without cracks, pick, buckle, thumb or fingerboard wear, and has been meticulously maintained. Just in case you don't happen to have the $100K handy for an original DA, the Zimnicki 18 offers a pathbreaking design at a working player's price.

Case: Original deluxe arched black plushlined hardshell case.
