Notes: Winnipeg based luthier Daryl Perry has been hand crafting premium grade classical guitars for over four decades. Drawing upon the traditional designs of the Torres school, Perry has amassed a considerable following among top professional performers and serious students alike.
A noted builder of historical reproductions, Perry's principal model is this Concert guitar. This fine example from 2003 is crafted of tap-tuned European spruce and East Indian rosewood, with a V-joint neck of Spanish cedar and mahogany. At just 1.52kg (3lb 5oz), the guitar is notably light and well balanced, with a particularly vibrant voice, with excellent clarity, color, and projection.
The lightweight varnish finish is hand rubbed in the French Polish style, on a vibrant fan braced soundboard. Action is measured at 3.6 to 4mm at the 12th fret, with medioum tension strings. This handsome instrument has remained in excellent all original condition, without cracks or repairs, and only a few incidental finish nicks to show for several decades of careful play.
Very limited in production, and rarely seen on the vintage market, this striking guitar is ideal for the soloist or ensemble player alike. A rare find indeed: one only, call now.
Case: Original deluxe arched black plush lined hardshell case.
