Body size at lower bout: 16". Scale length: 26 3/8" (670mm) Nut Width: 1 3/4"
Materials: Bookmatched solid Englemann spruce top; solid figured bookmatched Indian rosewood back and sides; solid mahogany neck; solid ebony fingerboard; curly Koa bound body.
Hardware: All original hardware including solid ebony bridge; DR Selmer style tailpiece; gold 16X1 tuners; Bigtone pickup with endpin jack.
Notes: Shelley Park's guitars have become prized on both sides of the Atlantic for their beauty, power and ultra-meticulous craftsmanship. An updating of the Selmer "Petit Bouche" used by Django himself, the Park Encore has the long 670mm scale for exceptional punch and projection, and a 14 fret neck for improved access. With top of stunningly bright bookmatched Englemann spruce rimmed in vivid curly Koa, the guitar is extremely light in weight (just 3lb. 6oz.) and the neck joins the body in a slim, elegant French heel.
Immaculately constructed, this example is built with back and sides of solid Indian rosewood, and has a brilliantly clear Englemann spruce soundboard. Formerly owned by Pearl Django founder Neil Andersson, the guitar has been maintained in immaculate condition, with all original hardware and Bigtone pickup. A special feature of this instrument is the oval sound port on the upper bass bout, which not only enhances the tone under the ear, but also increases volume and bass response for the instrument as a whole. Indeed, this example is certainly one of the most powerful Shelley Park guitars we've played.
The Park neck profile is a gentle D, renowned for its comfort and playability, with smooth low action over a fresh high precision setup. A magnificent combination of Old World design and New World sensibility. Here's a chance to jump the queue and bag a bargain besides. One only: call now.
Setup: This instrument is strung with light gauge silvered steel strings, and will accommodate lighter or heavier gauge strings, according to preference.
Case: Original deluxe black arched plush lined hardshell case.
