Patterned after the classic D'Aquisto archtops built for Joe Pass and Jim Hall among others, the RW Custom was designed for the working player, with a comfy 16" body, gliding under the arm at just 2 3/4" in depth. Hand carved and tap-tuned, the X-braced European spruce soundboard has exceptional acoustic resonance, particularly notable for an instrument with a built-in pickup.
The body is crafted of solid bookmatched figured black walnut, a tonewood known for its brilliant response. Masterfully bookmatched, and at just 5lb 13oz, the instrument is remarkably lightweight and well balanced. Neck profile is a comfy gentle D, with smooth low action over a fresh high-precision setup, on a solid ebony fingerboard. The voice is particularly vibrant, with more acoustic volume and resonance than many guitars with floating pickups.
This example is 100% original, and free of pick, buckle, thumb or fingerboard wear. Indeed, apart from a few incidental nicks, the instrument appears virtually unplayed. This remarkable guitar updates a legendary model for the contemporary player, with classic tone and 21st century playability. Grab this instant classic at an unbeatable price. One only, call now.
Setup: This instrument is strung with medium gauge nickel roundwound strings. The guitar will accommodate lighter or heavier gauge strings, according to preference. String action is set at 4/64" to 5/64" at the 12th fret, with moderate relief for acoustic playing with medium strings. The action may be lowered or raised to your requirements with the adjustable bridge.
Case: Original deluxe black arched plush lined hardshell case.
