Notes: Handbuilt in Kalamazoo by former Gibson artisans in the old factory plant, the full size Heritage H-550 draws inspiration from the Gibson Tal Farlow model, and its predecessor, the legendary Gibson ES-350. The Heritage H-550 features a highly flamed full depth 17" Venetian cutaway body, parallel bracing, and full 25 1/2" scale for greater snap on the note. The humbucking pickups and bridge are backed with a solid maple reinforcement strip under the soundboard, for improved sustain and feedback resistance.
This example is crafted with tiger flame maple of wonderful depth, and has been well maintained, free of pick, buckle, thumb or fingerboard wear. Aparat from a small finish ding drop-filled near the tailpiece, the guitar shows few signs of wear altogether. With a solid ebony fingerboard with fine medium jumbo frets, the neck has a gentle D profile neck that is very comfy in the hand.
The voice is warm and elegant, with a factory installed Seymor Duncan '59 pickup in the bridge, and an upgrade Lollar Imperial humbucker at the neck, as well as a GraphTech ResoMax bridge for precise intonation. A strikingly handsome instrument in a distinguished lineage of America's hardest working gig guitars, and unquestionably one of the best values on in a true US made pro quality jazz box.
Setup: This instrument is strung with medium gauge nickel roundwound strings (.013-.056). The guitar will accommodate lighter or heavier gauge strings, according to preference. String action is set at 5/64" to 6/64" at the 12th fret, with moderate relief for acoustic playing with medium strings. The action may be lowered or raised to your requirements with the adjustable bridge.
Case: Original Heritage deluxe arched plush lined hardshell case.
