Notes: Guitar building: it's not rocket science. Unless you happen to be Kevin Ryan.
At his Southern California workshop, Ryan has brought precision design concepts to his meticulously crafted acoustic guitars, techniques inspired by his work as an engineer at the Northrup Aeroscience Lab. Ryan's acoustic innovations include laser sculpted 'EO' lattice bracing for ultra-light construction, a spherically arched back for enhanced projection, and a unique extended bridgeplate, strategically perforated for maximum resonance.
This spectacular guitar is fitted with an extravagantly figured Brazilian rosewood body, X-braced soundboard of vintage toned fine grained Alpine spruce, and solid ebony fingerboard and bridge. Brilliant Paua abalone binding borders the body, neck, soundhole and peghead as well.
At just 4lb 15 oz, the guitar is notably lightweight, and its gently tapered 16" body sits nimbly on the lap, ideal for either finger or pick style play. With its generous 1 3/4" nut, the easy D profile neck offers smooth, low action over a fresh high precision setup. The extended 25.7" scale and gently arched back provide excellent projection and dynamic range, with a graceful Venetian cutaway affording enhanced access to the uppermost frets.
The Ryan beveled soundboard rim enhances player comfort, with his signature acoustic flute sound ports offering an acoustic monitor under the ear as well. This pristine example is in 100% original showroom condition, without playwear or checking, and with excellent neck angle and bridge saddle height. Finally, the guitar is fitted with premium Gotoh18:1 tuners, and a premium TKL AVS velour lined hardshell case., with soundhole humidifier.
Take flight with this striking and versatile instrument, from one of America's most innovative builders: one only, call now.
