Notes: Shelley Park's guitars have become prized on both sides of the Atlantic for their beauty, power and ultra-meticulous craftsmanship. An updating of the Selmer 'Petite Bouche' used by Django himself, the Park Encore has the long 670mm scale for exceptional punch and projection, and a 14 fret neck for improved access. Built in the faithful original postwar style with four lateral braces below the soundhole, the guitar has a soundboard of exceptionally tight grained solid spruce with extensive cross grain silk.
Nicely light in weight at just 4lb. 5oz., the instrument is deftly balanced on the lap, with a neck of evenly grained solid mahogany. Immaculately constructed, this example is built with back and sides of lustrous solid Indian rosewood, and maintained in showroom condition, with all original hardware and Bigtone pickup.
The voice is crisp and clear, with great cutting power and natural reverb. The neck profile is a comfy gentle D, with smooth low action over a fresh high precision setup. A special plus are the premium Miller RM logo tuners, crafted in authentic prewar art nouveau style, with smooth modern 14:1 gearing.
A magnificent combination of Old World design and New World sensibility, from a top builder in the Manouche tradition. One only: call now.
