Materials: Flamed arched tiger flame maple body; Honduran mahogany neck; inset maple center block; solid rosewood fingerboard; bound body and neck.

Hardware: All original hardware includes Dual Lollar Standard Imperial humbuckers; nickel Gotoh/Collings tuners with grained ivoroid keys, knobs, pickup rings and truss rod cover: Kluson stop tailpiece and adjustable compensated Tuneomatic style bridge; 3 way pickup selector switch.

Notes: Handbuilt in Austin to the highest standards of craft, the Collings SoCo is a blend of two of the world's most iconic electric guitars. Taking the Gibson ES-335 as a starting point, the SoCo 16 LC adds classic Les Paul body styling, and ups the game with a premium tiger maple top with extravagant bookmatched flame. With its solid maple center block and stop tail design, the SoCo 16 LC enhances sustain, with the laminate body providing superior feedback resistance at higher volume levels.

This gleaming example shows intense flame figure throughout, and has been maintained in superb original condition, without pick, buckle, thumb or fingerboard wear. Apart from a bit of scuffing on the neck pickup cover, the instrument appears all but unplayed. The classic gentle C profile neck offers smooth low action over gleaming traditional medium nickel-silver fretwire, and the tone is pure bliss, from blues to bebop to rockabilly heaven.

Setup: This instrument is strung with medium gauge nickel roundwound strings. The guitar will accommodate lighter or heavier gauge strings, according to preference. String action is set at 4/64" to 5/64" at the 12th fret, with moderate relief for acoustic playing with medium strings. The action may be lowered or raised to your requirements with the adjustable bridge.
