Notes: Introduced in 1958, the ES-335TD ("Thin Double-cutaway") cemented Gibson's reputation for cutting-edge innovation combined with classic traditional design. The thin body was easier for players to hold, the inner block enhanced sustain and reduced feedback, and the new PAF humbucking pickups set a new standard for quiet operation, high output, and sweet, fat tone. Small wonder that the 335 became an instant classic, and has remained one of the worlds' most popular electric guitars to this day.
This gleaming guitar is a faithful reissue of the earliest and most desirable version of the model, with the dot inlay fingerboard, stop tailpiece, and generous 1 11/16" fingerboard width, as produced until mid-1962. The slim-taper neck, introduced in the early '60s, reduced the bulk of the neck profile slightly from front to back for an incomparably comfortable playing experience. The full access 22 fret neck has the classic compact headstock with 17 degree angle, and the guitar is fitted with vintage correct aged nickel hardware throughout, including improved 16:1 Kluson Deluxe tuners for more precise tuning, and the aluminum ABR-1 Tuneomatic bridge and stop tailpiece, for enhanced compensation and sustain.
The frets are the classic 50's style Gibson mediums, the body and neck are nicely balanced, and the instrument sits smartly on the lap or the shoulder. The '57 Classic PAF pickups produce a smooth, high output signal with lots of snap and sustain. And a special plus, the fretwork has been Plek leveled and polished, with a fresh high-precision setup for effortless action.
This handsome instrument is in 100% original condition, without pick, buckle, thumb or fingerboard wear. Apart from a few incidental lacquer nicks, the guitar appears much as it did when it left the factory in Memphis, Tennessee. With the smooth, bluesy tone, and comfy feel, for which this model is justly famed, the guitar is complete with its original deluxe arched brown Gibson-logo plush lined hardshell case, silk coverlet, and Certificate of Authenticity.
The return of a classic: one only, call now.
Setup: Trussrod tension and neck relief adjusted; bridge height adjusted; bridge compensation set; bridge wheels and tuners lubricated; fingerboard and bridge oiled; body and neck cleaned and hand polished.
