Notes: One of Gibson's most elusive models, the ES-390 was produced only between 2012 and 2015 by the Memphis Custom Shop. Its compact 14" thinline body was identical in size to the CS-336 and ES-346 models, and was initially equipped with mini-humbucking pickups. By 2014, the ES-390 was refitted with vintage style P-90 single coil pickups, making it essentially a compact version of Gibson's classic ES-330.
At a mere 5lb 7oz, the guitar is blissfully light in weight, with a solid mahogany neck permitting unimpeded access to the entire range of the 22 fret fingerboard. This stylish Custom Shop model adds vintage touches including a '50's style peghead profile, and all-nickel hardware, including classic Kluson style tulip key tuners.
This rare guitar is a fine example, with original hardware and finish, without pick, buckle, thumb or fingerboard wear. Smooth low action over a gentle D profile neck, with a fresh high-precision setup. The upgrade Jason Lollar P-90 pickups provide crisp, detailed tone for jazz, blues, or roots rock styling, with excellent feedback resistance.
Released in tiny quantities, the ES-390 is now a hard-to find guitar on the vintage market, and a highly desirable instrument for the working performer. This gleaming guitar comes complete with original case, paperwork, and Custom Shop Certificate of Authenticity. One only: call now.
Setup: Trussrod tension and neck relief adjusted; bridge height adjusted; bridge compensation set; bridge wheels and tuners lubricated; fingerboard and bridge oiled; body and neck cleaned and hand polished.
