Notes: Savvy players have always known the secret: buy the tone, not the logo. And no luthiers have ever delivered more performance at a better value than the good folks at Appalachian Resonator Guitars. Founded in 2008 by the late master builder Tom Warner, the firm continues to produce premium quality resophonic instruments from their workshop in scenic Prairie Grove, Arkansas, in the heart of the Ozark Mountains.
Unlike most laminated factory built dobros, this striking instrument is crafted of all solid tonewoods including a bookmatched fine grained spruce soundboard, a three piece mahogany neck, and a stunning figured black walnut body. This rare and costly tonewood is renowned for its brilliant, bell-like clarity and powerful projection, augmented on this instrument by an innovative angled hard clear plastic tone reflector, positioned directly beneath the round sound ports.
Premium appointments include the multi color purfling on body and neck, ornate floral inlay in the peghead and solid ebony fingerboard, locking Sperzel tuners, and the brilliantly polished chrome hardware throughout. The Beard Legend hand spun resonator cone and spider lend power and depth to the voice, which can stand up to the most highly caffeinated banjo player.
Maintained in showroom condition, the instrument is 100% original, and shows no signs of playwear. We know of no better value in a true professional quality resonator instrument: actually, there's nothing even close. And don't take our word for it: pro reviews are a consistent 10 for these brilliantly crafted instruments here.
