Materials: Solid carved European spruce top, solid carved Honduran mahogany body and neck, solid ebony fingerboard; bound body and neck.

Hardware: All original chrome hardware includes Lollar floating Johnny Smith humbucker; Gotoh/Collings tuners; solid ebony bridge, tuner buttons, pickguard, tailpiece and truss rod cover; thumbwheel volume and tone controls under guard.

Notes: Handbuilt in Austin to the highest standards of craft, the Collings City Limits Jazz is ready built for comfort, playability, and resonance. It's ultra-slimline body is a delight under the arm, and at a mere 5lb 2 oz its fully hollow body simply floats on the lap or the strap. The precisely carved Euro spruce soundboard produces an acoustic voice quite remarkable for an instrument of its compact size, and the custom Lollar Johnny Smith floating humbucker highlights its vibrant tone with warmth and accuracy,

This handsome instrument shows vivid figure in the Honduran mahogany body, carved of a single solid piece of tonewood, an extreme rarity in any archtop guitar. The solid ebony fingerboard is graced with an eyecatching 'shattered glass' inlay pattern as well, crafted of solid abalone and mother of pearl.

This gleaming example has been maintained in showroom condition, and appears virtually unplayed. The classic gentle C profile neck offers smooth low action over gleaming traditional medium nickel-silver fretwire, and the tone is pure bliss, from bebop to blues and beyond.

Setup: This instrument is strung with medium gauge nickel roundwound strings. The guitar will accommodate lighter or heavier gauge strings, according to preference. String action is set at 4/64" to 5/64" at the 12th fret, with moderate relief for acoustic playing with medium strings. The action may be lowered or raised to your requirements with the adjustable bridge.
