Notes: From his workshop in the historic market town of Oswestry in Shropshire, UK, Patrick James Eggle has been crafting world-class bespoke instruments for marquee players including Albert Lee, Tony Iommi, Rory Gallagher and many more. With an eye for spectacular figured tonewood and a flair for tasteful design, Eggle works with his small team to create guitars of surpassing tone, appearance and playability, with first class fit and finish throughout.

His Macon Special is his vision of the classic LP Special, featuring an innovative sculpted neck heel to enhance access to the uppermost frets. At just 7lb 2 oz, the figured mahogany body is appealingly light in weight, and interlaced with striking ribbon pattern in the vertical grain. The top is deftly bookmatched of deeply figured AAAA curly maple, interlaced with dramatic spalting, a rare natural condition creating stunning cross grain patterns in maple and other decorative hardwoods.

Equipped for tonal versatility, this Macon Special is fitted with handwound UK Mojo pickups, including a staple P-90 single coil at the neck, and a classic 50's style PAF at the bridge. Individual volume controls for each pickup and a master tone control complete the wiring, with a coil tap switch turning the neck pickup from brilliant and detailed to warm and deeply voiced.

The formal tobacco sunburst lacquer finish is complemented by the contoured tortoise pickguard, and offset with lustrous curly maple body binding. The 'Vintage 50's' C neck profile is pleasingly full in the hand, with smooth low action over a fresh high precision setup. Finally, the aged tulip key tuners, and relic nickel hardware are tasteful complements to the authentic vintage appearance.

The instrument has been maintained in 100% original, showroom condition, complete with its original rectangular hardshell case, tags, and Certificate of Authenticity. With compelling looks and a uniquely varied tonal palette, the Macon is a distinctly versatile player, from a widely renowned international luthier. One only: call now.

Setup: Trussrod tension and neck relief adjusted; bridge height adjusted; bridge compensation set; bridge wheels and tuners lubricated; fingerboard and bridge oiled; body and neck cleaned and hand polished.
