Notes: We are pleased to offer this fine Martin HD-28 dreadnought, a faithful reissue of the legendary prewar D-28, with herringbone binding, zig-zag backstripe, and scalloped, forward-shifted X-bracing. Powerful and resonant, this example has low comfortable action over a fresh high-precision setup, with a classic light V profile neck and a fully adjustable truss rod.
The bookmatched, quartersawn Sitka spruce soundboard is heavily interlaced with crossgrain silk, over a handsome straight-grained Indian rosewood body. The Fishman Matrix Infinity VT Pickup is the world'smost popular undersaddle pickup, and features soundhole mounted volume and tone controls, and a unique voicing switch to accommodate a variety of amps and performance venues.
The guitar offers smooth low action over a gentle C profile neck, with a fresh high precision setup, and the voice is clear and open, with resonant bass, brilliant highs, and vibrant sustain. This gleaming example remains in 100% original condition, without apparent playwear, and is complete with its original black Martin molded plush lined hardshell case, and all factory paperwork.
The original, and iconic dreadnought guitar, the HD-28 remains the gold standard, from the front porch, to the front of the stage. A perennial favorite: one only, call now.
Setup: This instrument is strung with medium gauge bronze strings, with action set to 4-5/64" at the 12th fret. The guitar will accommodate lighter or heavier gauge strings, according to preference.
