Materials: Solid bookmatched arched spruce body; solid mahogany neck with Madagascar rosewood fingerboard; 5-ply cream body binding.

Notes: Distinctive among contemporary builders, Dutch luthier Daniel Slaman has made a specialty with his 'New Vintage Guitars'. While many of his models remain scrupulously faithful to vintage designs, Slaman also creates original instruments that combine classic features in innovative ways. His striking Pauletta model is a prime example, crafted with a unique lightweight solid spruce body, a UK built Charlie Christian style pickup, and a tailpiece inspired by Gibson's legendary ES-250 of the 1940's.

This Pauletta, christened 'Eileen' by her maker, is delightfully light in weight, with its unique partially chambered solid spruce body. At just 7lb 9oz, it is distinctly lighter that conventional Les Pauls, and balances smartly on the lap or the strap. The UK built CC pickup is the most faithful replica of the prewar classic, and is custom adapted with individually adjustable polepieces for precise string balance.

The unique ES-250 tailpiece and Grover Rotomatic tuners are both aged nickel, and the entire instrument has been given a light relic treatment with scattered nicks and checking on the body and headstock. Action is smooth and low over a traditional C profile neck, with fine medium EVO gold frets and a high precision setup.
