Hardware: All gold hardware includes Gotoh 15:1 Sta-Tite style tuners; prewar style trapeze tailpiece, compensated adjustable ebony bridge; bound dark tortoise pickguard; adjustable truss rod.

Notes: Making it's debut late in 1922, the Gibson L-5 was created by the legendary Lloyd Loar, father of the renowned F-5 mandolin. One of the most influential instrument designers of the 20th century, Loar pioneered a number of key innovations, including very early work on the electric guitar. The Gibson L-5 is perhaps his most influential creation, and is widely regarded as the first successful commercially produced archtop guitar. Now past its centennial, the L-5 remains the most celebrated and influential jazz guitar of all time.

This faithful tribute was designed by our pal Harry Takemoto for his innovative Stringphonic guitar line. Handbuilt with meticulous Japanese craftsmanship, this handsome guitar offers the most treasured features of the original series L-5: the solid, finely carved braces; dot fingerboard neck with 'birds beak' extension, and short bound tortoise pickguard. Vintage correct gold hardware includes the trapeze tailpiece, Grover style open back tuners, and a prewar style adjustable compensated ebony bridge.

At a mere 4lb 7oz, the guitar is strikingly light, and floats nimbly on the lap or the strap. A lustrous vintage matte nitro finish is masterfully toned to an amber hue, highlighting the tightly flamed curly maple back and sides. The neck has the gentle C profile so coveted by players for this model year, with smooth low action over a fresh high-precision setup, and brightly polished EVO Gold fretwork. The acoustic voice is full and throaty, with enhanced bass response and sustain from its X-braced soundboard.

Produced in an extremely limited edition, this rarity is a remarkable salute to a truly iconic vintage classic. And with original examples running $20K or more on the vintage market, this striking guitar is an unquestioned best buy as well. One only, call now.

Setup: This instrument is strung with medium gauge roundwound bronze strings. The guitar will accommodate lighter or heavier gauge strings, according to preference. String action is set at 4/64" to 5/64" at the 12th fret, with light relief. The action may be lowered or raised to your requirements with the adjustable bridge.

Case: Original deluxe rigid foam hardshell case, with black Cordura cover.
