Serial #: 51905, green New York label

Body size at lower bout: 17 3/8" Scale length: 25 1/2" Nut width: 1 11/16"

Finish: Original ivory/blonde finish, nitrocellulose lacquer type

Materials: Solid handcarved birdseye maple maple back and sides; solid carved soundboard; solid cherry neck with 3-ply walnut/maple centerstripe; Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl inlay; ornate older "fleur de lis" style peghead inlay, triple-bound body, bound fingerboard and headstock.

Hardware: 100% original hardware including original bridge (serial number 51905 stamped on underside of bridge foot matches label number); blonde maple bridge foot and rare original wartime octagonal bridge adjusting wheels; original "E-logo" tuners; original Frequensator tailpiece; rare original bound nitrocellulose tigerstripe tortoise pickguard in perfect condition, original frets, adjustable truss rod.

Notes: This guitar is a 100% original example of Epiphone's rarest finish color: the '000 white' or 'limed' ivory finish. According to Gruhn Guitars, this finish was used only on a few Triumphs, Broadways and Ritz model Epis from the wartime era. This unique finish is notable for its stunning opaque butterscotch color on the top, now yellowed to a golden amber. The birdseye maple back, sides and cherry neck are finished in a conventional clear natural blonde lacquer. A dramatic and exceptional sounding instrument, this is one of very few known examples of this rare and striking guitar.

Setup: The frets have been precision leveled, recrowned and polished; trussrod tension and neck relief adjusted; bridge height adjusted; bridge compensation set; string slots at nut and bridge inspected and recut as necessary; bridge foot contour inspected and fit to top as necessary; bridge radius inspected and recurved as necessary; bridgewheels and tuners lubricated; fingerboard and bridge oiled; body and neck cleaned and hand polished.

This instrument is strung with medium gauge bronze strings (.013-.057). The guitar will accommodate lighter or heavier gauge strings, according to preference. String action is set at 5/64" to 6/64" at the 12th fret, with moderate relief for acoustic playing with medium strings. The action may be lowered or raised to your requirements with the adjustable bridge.

Case: Original black Epiphone hardshell case; "E-logo" in plush lining under lid.
