Designed in the height of the big-band era, the Epiphone Triumph has always been a favorite for players wanting maximum bang for the buck. Built with the same materials, scale length, and body design as the upscale Broadway and Deluxe models, the Triumph delivers all the sound and feel of the most costly guitars in the line.
A veteran New York Epiphone, this handsome guitar is crafted of handsome flame maple, with an Adirondack spruce soundboard, now ambered to a deep pumpkin hue. A transitional design, she sports the graceful prewar "snowflake" peghead inlay in high color abalone, solid pearl fingerboard inlays, and a maple bridge base, used by Epi only on their natural finished guitars. And amazingly, the original translucent tiger stripe pickguard has survived in perfect condition, a rarity among instruments of this vintage.
The instrument has an unusually clear, powerful voice with exceptional headroom and projection, a comfy neck with a contemporary C profile, and smooth low action over bright pro fretwork. The original multi-ply binding is tight to the body, and the Frequensator tailpiece is freshly brazed at the bend. Both centerseams and a short crack near the tailpiece have been soundly resealed, and the instrument shows normal playwear on the body and neck. Nestled in its original epsilon logo Epiphone deluxe hardshell case, this golden oldie is an unbeatable value for sheer performance and classic good looks. Call now.
Setup: The frets have been precision leveled, recrowned and polished; trussrod tension and neck relief adjusted; bridge height adjusted; bridge compensation set; string slots at nut and bridge inspected and recut as necessary; bridge foot contour inspected and fit to top as necessary; bridge radius inspected and recurved as necessary; bridge wheels and tuners lubricated; fingerboard and bridge oiled; body and neck cleaned and hand polished.
This instrument is strung with medium gauge bronze strings (.013-.057). The guitar will accommodate lighter or heavier gauge strings, according to preference. String action is set at 5/64" to 6/64" at the 12th fret, with moderate relief for acoustic playing with medium strings. The action may be lowered or raised to your requirements with the adjustable bridge.
Case: Original black Epiphone deluxe arched plush lined hardshell case.
