Finish: Natural blonde finish, nitrocellulose lacquer type.

Materials: Hand-carved solid spruce top; highly figured tiger-flame maple back; three-piece maple neck; Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with split-parallelogram mother of pearl inlays; solid bone nut.

Hardware: 100% original nickel hardware includes raised parallelogram trapeze tailpiece, compensated adjustable Brazilian rosewood bridge, beveled black 5-ply pickguard, Kluson Deluxe single ring tuners.

Notes: The blonde version of Gibson's most popular professional size archtop, the L-7CN was produced only between 1949 and 1959, and is dimensionally identical to the costly L-5C. Gibson never produced more than a few dozen specimens in natural finish in any production year, and blonde guitars constitute only about one in five examples. This guitar is one of only 33 L-7CN guitars made in the first year of production, and is the earliest one of its kind we've found to date.

Maintained in museum quality condition, this remarkable guitar is free of pick, buckle, thumb or fingerboard wear, with all original blonde finish and 100% factory nickel hardware. Carved of all-solid tonewoods, the instrument boasts gorgeously figured carved maple back and sides, and a finely graduated soundboard of tight grained quartersawn Sitka spruce.

At a phenomenal 5lb 3oz, this guitar is unusually lightweight, and simply floats on the lap or the strap. Binding is all original and tight to the body, and the original beveled pickguard is straight and true. The neck has a gently rounded medium C profile, easy in the hand, with smooth low action over all original fretwork, and a fresh high-precision setup.

The voice is exceptionally bright and clear, with warm, open bass, and sparkling clarity and projection. All acoustic since it left the factory, this handsome guitar is one of very few that has never had a pickup attached, and is supplied with its original Gibson brown alligator hardshell case. Handsome, vibrant, and rare as they come, this first-year classic is a true time-capsule find. One only: call now.

Setup: The frets have been precision leveled, recrowned and polished; trussrod tension and neck relief adjusted; bridge height adjusted; bridge compensation set; string slots at nut and bridge inspected and recut as necessary; bridge foot contour inspected and fit to top as necessary; bridge radius inspected and recurved as necessary; bridge wheels and tuners lubricated; fingerboard and bridge oiled; body and neck cleaned and hand polished.

Case: Original Gibson deluxe arched brown alligator plush lined hardshell case.
