Body size at lower bout: 16". Scale length: 24 3/4" Nut width: 1 11/16"

Materials: Solid carved spruce top; figured maple back and sides, solid one-piece mahogany neck, solid Brazilian rosewood fingerboard, trapezoidal fingerboard inlays; bound body and neck.

Hardware: All original hardware includes 5-ply beveled b/w/b/w/b pickguard, compensated Brazilian rosewood bridge, nickel trapeze tailpiece with raised diamond on crossbar, Kluson nickel no-line tuners, with replacement grained ivoroid buttons.

Notes: The L-50 model was introduced in 1932, and remained in production until 1971, becoming Gibson's most popular acoustic archtop ever. With the same scale length and body size as the L-4 and the ES-175 models, the L-50 is easy to hold and fun to play, for faster soloing, and easier reach of stretch chord voicings.

This example is in showroom condition, with it's all original dark sunburst finish shining like a newly minted dime. This under-the-bed marvel appears virtually unplayed, and has been maintained without cracks, pick, buckle thumb or fingerboard wear. All original hardware, binding and fretwork are in immaculate condition, with smooth low action over a classic gentle C profile neck with full 1 11/16" Brazilian rosewood fingerboard.

With its well-aged solid carved bookmatched spruce soundboard, the voice is bright and clear with excellent projection, and the back shows handsome slab cut maple figure. Complete with its original Gibson brown alligator fiber case, this guitar is a true best buy in a genuine carved-top Gibson jazz box.

Setup: The frets have been precision leveled, recrowned and polished as needed; trussrod tension and neck relief adjusted; bridge height adjusted; bridge compensation set; string slots at nut and bridge inspected and recut as necessary; bridge foot contour inspected and fit to top as necessary; bridge radius inspected and recurved as necessary; bridge wheels and tuners lubricated; fingerboard and bridge oiled; body and neck cleaned and hand polished.

This instrument is strung with medium gauge bronze strings (.013-.057). The guitar will accommodate lighter or heavier gauge strings, according to preference. String action is set at 5/64" to 6/64" at the 12th fret, with moderate relief for acoustic playing with medium strings. The action may be lowered or raised to your requirements with the adjustable bridge.

Case: Original Gibson brown alligator fiber case.
