Materials: Solid Honduras mahogany neck; maple top back, and sides; solid Brazilian rosewood fingerboard

Hardware: Original hardware includes twin P-90 pickups, tortoise pickguard, nickel-plated Kluson Deluxe tuners, gold bonnet tone and volume knobs, nickel trapeze tailpiece. Compensated adjustable rosewood bridge.

Notes: If you actually *play* guitar, rather than just accumulating them, you've undoubtedly watched with dismay as the price of luxury-class guitar models have skyrocketed into the stratosphere. Which is why we search diligently for those particular instruments that deliver peak performance at an affordable price. This is one of our favorites.

Introduced in 1960, the ES-125TCD ("thin cutaway double pickup") had a production run of just eleven years. With its fat P-90 pickups, Florentine cutaway, and fast scale, the ES-125 is essentially a thinline version of the classic fifties-era ES-175. As on the 175, the laminated body offers superior feedback resistance, while the all-hollow thinline profile and absence of superfluous hardware resulted in one of the most lightweight electric guitars Gibson ever produced. Combined with it's coveted wide early sixties neck profile, this guitar is incomparably comfortable to hold and just plain fun to play.

This one's in great shape, without pick, buckle, thumb or fingerboard wear, and a lovely original tobacco sunburst finish in superb condition. Best of all, it has the coveted full width 1 11/16" fingerboard with the legendary 1960 gentle D neck profile. Slim in depth, but wide across the board, this classic profile is one of Gibson's most popular ever. A single repair to the back of the headstock has been immaculately executed (and warranteed), and the original finish on the back and neck has been protected with a light dusting of true vintage nitrocelluose lacquer. The action is low and smooth over fresh pro fretwork, and the tone of the original twin P-90's is pure '50's at its best. True vintage Gibson performance at price below the copies, this guitar is truly an unbeatable buy.

Setup: The frets have been precision leveled, recrowned and polished; trussrod tension and neck relief adjusted; bridge height adjusted; bridge compensation set; string slots at nut and bridge inspected and recut as necessary; bridge foot contour inspected and fit to top as necessary; bridge radius inspected and recurved as necessary; bridge wheels and tuners lubricated; fingerboard and bridge oiled; body and neck cleaned and hand polished.
