Notes: Introduced in 1959, the ES-330T combined cutting-edge innovation with traditional design. The slim depth body is a delight for the player to hold. Greatly reducing feedback, the trim profile still retains the graceful lines of the classic Gibson archtops. Best of all, the 330 has a fully hollow body, like the Byrdland, ES-350T, and the famous George Gobel L-5. Ideal for jazz, blues and everything in between, the hollow tone chamber produces a fatter, warmer tone than semi-solid models, and is blissfully lighter in weight. Made for only three years between 1959 and 1962, the ES-330T remains among the most comfortable and versatile electric guitars Gibson ever made.
The rich vintage dark sunburst finish highlights the birdseye maple body to great advantage, and contrasts elegantly with the jet-black pickguard. The neck has a gentle "C" profile, and sits effortlessly in the hand. The frets are the classic 60's medium-jumbos, famously easy to play. At just 5lb. 7oz. the guitar is phenomenally light in weight: the body and neck are exquisitely balanced, and the instrument sits easily on the lap or the shoulder. The original P-90 pickup produces a sparkling tone: clear, detailed and rich in harmonics. The guitar shows no cracks or repairs, and the original sunburst finish is remarkably free of pick, buckle, and thumbwear, with only typical light checking and a few finish dings at the heel. A superb example of a rare and highly playable classic from Gibson's Golden Age of electric guitars.
Setup: Trussrod tension and neck relief adjusted; bridge height adjusted; bridge compensation set; bridge wheels and tuners lubricated; fingerboard and bridge oiled; body and neck cleaned and hand polished.
