Vintage 5 position pickup selector switch.

Notes: Pick a color. Any color. And you have the custom color 1960 Strat of your dreams, at a fraction of the cost.

Owned and played for over half a century by bluesman 'Hawkeye' Herman, this classic early 60's Strat originally left the Fullerton plant in a gleaming Olympic white finish. But Hawkeye got tired of being asked for Hendrix licks, so he decided he'd rather admire the luster of the true wood grain of its lovely contoured alder body. Hundreds of festival and roadhouse gigs later, this road warrior still retains all its original 1960 hardware and electronics, with the sole addition of a vintage 5 position pickup selector switch.

All the right stuff is here: the slab rosewood fingerboard, spaghetti logo peghead, mint green three ply pickguard, backloader 5 spring vibrola. The staggered pole pickups measure 5.76k, 6.20k, and 6.87k from the neck to the bridge, and the original Stackpole pots date to the second week of November, 1959. With the addition of a fine set of polished pro frets and a relic bone nut, the guitar plays effortlessly, with a fresh high precision setup.

The 'B' width maple neck has a particularly inviting slim oval "C' profile, just .66 at the first fret, for a truly elegant feel. The original nickel Kluson single line tuners have been returned to the peghed as well, with a set of vintage correct relic nickel adapter bushings. At just 7lb 3oz, the guitar rests easily in the lap or the strap, with a figured alder body that rings like a brass bell. No cracks, no issues. A special plus, the guitar is supplied with a custom fit aluminum pickguard shielding plate.

So what's your pleasure? Seafoam Green? Aztec Gold? Or just rockin' the natural vibe. In any color of vintage Duco, this guitar is the ideal restoration candidate, right out of its original tan Tolex, no-logo, plush lined rectangular hardshell case. One only: call now.

Setup: This instrument is strung with light gauge nickel roundwound strings (.010). The guitar will accommodate lighter or heavier gauge strings, according to preference. String action is set at 4/64" to 5/64" at the 12th fret, with light relief. The action may be lowered or raised to your requirements with the adjustable bridge.
