Materials: Figured slab-cut maple body; mahogany neck with adjustable truss rod; solid Brazilian rosewood fingerboard; 3-ply body binding, bound fingerboard, bone nut.

Notes: Introduced in 1956, the Guild Capri CE-100 was positioned as a direct competitor to the Gibson ES-175, but today is a much rarer model. This twin pickup version (CE-100D) debuted in 1959, and like the Gibson, has a 16" arched maple body, 24 3/4" scale and Florentine cutaway. With its 2 7/8" depth body, the Capri is slightly shallower than its Gibson counterpart, very easy under the arm, and anticipated by decades the slimmer body profile of the D'Aquisto-inspired electrics so popular with players today.
This immaculate guitar is a product of Guild's Hoboken, New Jersey factory, where the firm operated for its formative era from 1956 to 1969. This model has the Chesterfield style headstock, stairstep pickguard, and block position markers in the solid Brazilian rosewood fingerboard. This example is uncannily fine condition, with its gleaming original plating and finish without cracks, pick, buckle, or fingerboard wear. Even the typical finish checking almost universal in guitars this age is absent on this stunning specimen. The guitar has a warm, appealing voice, and a slim, fast neck. A versatile model, and a best buy in a true '60s guitar, the CE-100D is an outstanding value in a hard-working classic jazz box.
Setup: The frets have been precision leveled, crowned and polished as needed; trussrod tension and neck relief adjusted; bridge height adjusted; bridge compensation set; string slots at nut and bridge inspected and recut as necessary; bridge foot contour inspected and fit to top as necessary; bridge radius inspected and recurved as necessary; bridge wheels and tuners lubricated; fingerboard and bridge oiled; body and neck cleaned and hand polished.
This instrument is strung with medium heavy gauge nickel strings (.014-.059). The guitar will accommodate lighter gauge strings, according to preference. String action is set at 5/64" to 6/64" at the 12th fret, with moderate relief for acoustic playing with medium strings. The action may be lowered or raised to your requirements with the adjustable bridge.
Case: Black plush hardshell case.
