SN#: 348314 Body size at lower bout: 16". Scale length: 23" Nut Width: 1 3/16" Neck depth, 1st/10th frets: .83/.91

Materials: Arched slab cut maple body; solid Honduran mahogany neck with Brazilian rosewood fingerboard.

Hardware: Original nickel hardware includes factory custom 4 pole Pat. Sticker humbucking pickup; tenor trapeze tailpiece; compensated Brazilian rosewood tenor bridge; wide bevel 5 ply pickguard; gold reflector cap tone and volume knobs. Vintage correct Schaller double ring tulip keys.

Notes: Since it was first introduced in 1937, if you wanted a Gibson electric tenor guitar, the venerable ETG-150 was your only choice. But if you wanted the additional range of a cutaway body, your only alternative was a custom order. Just like this remarkable instrument.

Never offered as a standard model, Gibson's perennial ES-175 could be obtained in a tenor configuration, but only on special order. This guitar has it all: the 23" scale tenor neck, and all custom hardware including the original four slot trapeze tailpiece, four string tenor bridge, and most remarkably, a Gibson Pat. sticker humbucking pickup, with a custom four hole nickel cover, the only one we've ever seen.

This impossibly rare instrument is in superb 100% original condition, with all original sunburst, finish without pick, buckle, thumb or fingerboard wear. No cracks or repairs, and the original medium jumbo fretwork remains in undented condition. Even the typical age checking one expects in an original lacquer finish is notably absent, and apart from a bit of weathering on the back veneer, the instrument appears in virtually showroom condition.

The original Pat. sticker humbucker produces a rich, detailed tone, and the pots and cap are still enclosed in unopened factory shielding cans. The action is smooth and low over a fresh high precision setup. A special plus, the guitar remains nestled in its original factory modified plush lined hardshell case.

An astounding find, this rare bird is truly in a class by itself. One only: call now.
