Solid swamp ash body; solid one-piece maple cap neck with clay dot inlays. Original hardware includes black staggered pole single coil bridge pickup on back loader bridgeplate; 8-screw 3-ply white pickguard; flat top knurled volume and tone knobs; three-way pickup selector switch with Pat.# Daka-Ware top-hat knob; Schaller Fender logo chrome tuners; twin butterfly string retainers; adjustable three-piece threaded steel bridge saddles; adjustable truss rod, original .05mF ceramic tone capacitor. 1965 vintage neck pickup, later vintage correct CTS volume and tone pots.
Notes: This fine example of Fender's timelss classic has the lightweight swamp ash body, with transition logo maple cap neck, backloader bridge pickup with staggered polepieces and steel saddles, 3-ply 8-screw white pickguard, knurled flat top knobs, and first year Schaller Fender logo tuners.
Neckplate and neck date both date to 1967. The body shows original factory routing only, and at barely 7lb 2oz. the guitar is notably light and well balanced, on the lap or the strap. The slab fingerboard "B" style neck has the classic gentle C profile, with a fine vintage correct pro refret.
A true bandstand veteran, the guitar has all original butterscotch blonde finish, with no smoke odor, and typical pro playwear to body, neck, and fingerboard. Lightweight and fun to play, the guitar has the icepick punch of the classic Tele bridge pickup at 6.79K, with a pleasingly warm neck pickup at 6.37K. Interestingly, the neck pickup is the oldest hardware on the guitar, originally from 1965, with green cloth ground wire. Vintage correct CTS 250K pots show codes from a later date as well.

Setup: This instrument is strung with light gauge nickel strings (.010-.052). The guitar will accommodate lighter or heavier gauge strings, according to preference. String action is set at 4/64" to 5/64" at the 12th fret, with light relief. The action may be lowered or raised to your requirements with the adjustable bridge saddles.
