Notes: A Strat? By Buscarino?? Who Knew???
A student of both Bob Benedetto and classical builder Augie LoPrinzi, John Buscarino is consistently ranked among the most distinguished of contemporary luthiers. While his master quality archtop guitars have long been renowned in the marketplace, even savvy collectors may be unaware that Buscarino produced a very limited number of hand built solid bodies in the late '80's and early '90's.
This example is an exceptionally fine instrument, showing all original finish with no cracks, pick, buckle, thumb or fingerboard wear, and only a few superficial random lacquer dings. According to the builder, this rare example was constructed sometime between 1989 and 1992. Premium quality hardware on the guitar includes Sperzel locking powder coated tuners and a Williamson spring tremelo, with three high output pickups producing a versatile tonal range, and a solid alder body with excellent sustain and feedback resistance.
The solid maple neck has original matte finish, and is a very comfy medium D profile. The full 1 11/16" nut will be welcome to players desiring a bit more generous fingerboard than that offered by the ordinary Strat. With smooth low action, this guitar is a time-honored classic, and one of the rarest offerings of a legendary builder. One only: call now.
Setup: This instrument is strung with light gauge nickel strings. The guitar will accommodate lighter or heavier gauge strings, according to preference. String action is set at 5/64" to 6/64" at the 12th fret, with moderate relief. The action may be lowered or raised to your requirements with the adjustable bridge.
Case: Original deluxe molded hardshell case.
