Notes: Handbuilt in Kalamazoo by former Gibson artisans in the old Gibson plant, the Golden Eagle was the flagship of the Heritage line. The equivalent to the Gibson L-5 Wes Montgomery, this handsome Golden Eagle shares the same materials and specifications as its Gibson cousin, including the solid carved parallel braced spruce soundboard, solid flame maple back and sides, and inlaid ebony fingerboard.

Combining art deco styling with outstanding solid carved tonewoods, the guitar shows particularly vivid tiger flame maple throughout. The solid carved X-braced Sitka spruce soundboard produces a warm, rich, woody acoustic tone, faithfully conveyed to the amp. Amooth low action over a gentle C profile neck, with gleaming EVO Gold medium jumbo fretwork, and a fresh high precision setup.

Maintained in fine shape, the guitar is free of cracks, buckle, thumb or fingerboard wear, with a few random pick marks, mostly near the low E string. A special plus, the guitar is fitted with an upgrade Handwound Kent Armstrong PAF floating pickup, with the original gold floating humbucker included in the case.

Unavailable now for some years, the Golden Eagle is a fully handmade US built classic jazz archtop, at an unbeatable price, when you can find one. One only: call now.

String action is set at 4/64" to 5/64" at the 12th fret, with moderate relief. The action may be lowered or raised to your requirements with the adjustable bridge.
