Notes: Founded in 1990, Breedlove Guitars of Bend, Oregon, have built a reputation on their innovative, high-performance instruments. With high-profile clients ranging from Wilco's Jeff Tweedy to the Eagles' Joe Walsh, Breedlove has built a solid fan base with their dramatic designs and meticulous craftsmanship.
Breedlove models are particularly favoed by twelve string players for their gigantic, piano-like tone This spectacular MJ/K Master Class instrument is crafted of extravagantly figured solid bookmatched Koa, the rare and dazzling tonewood of the Hawaiian Islands. The body is shaped in the company's signature design, with an asymmetrical cutaway body that is a modern re-interpretation of the Epiphone Recording model guitars of the late 1920's. The sharp cutaway allows unrestricted access to the full 20 fret fingerboard, and the full depth body produces a voice that is clear and even across the tonal range, yet sensitive enough for the lighter string gauges preferred by many contemporary players.
This stunning example was built with the Western Red Cedar top, ebony fingerboard and bridge, and a spoked abalone soundhole rosette. Other upgrades include the Highlander and Baggs pickup system and all-gold hardware. Not your grandpa's dreadnought, the Breedlove CM/E is ideal for the fingerstyle instrumentalist who's serious about playing the entire guitar. Current street price on Master Class 12 is over $6000 in this configuration. This exquisite example, in immaculate condition, is available at a fraction of the cost and without the wait time.
