Introduced in 1986, the Eagle was the workhorse of the Heritage archtop line. Handbuilt in Kalamazoo by former Gibson artisans in the old Gibson plant, the Eagle is equivalent in size to the L-5C and L-7C, and shares the same body size, scale length and bracing. A classic single pickup jazz box, the Eagle's solid carved mahogany body is unique among modern jazz guitars, a welcome alternative to the laminate instruments usually seen in its price range.

Designed with elegant simplicity, the instrument has a clear, balanced and focused voice, with the warmth and depth you'd expect from the solid carved tonewood. The action is smooth and low over a gentle D profile neck with excellent original fretwork, and a fresh high precision setup. Of special note, this handsome instrument is appointed with all gold hardware, a rare upgrade on this model.

The guitar is in fine all-original condition without cracks, pick, buckle, thumb or fingerboard wear, and is fitted with its original floating humbucking pickup, with volume control, and 1/4" endpin jack. Apart from a few incidental nicks in its vintage lacquer finish, the guitar appears in virtually unplayed condition otherwise.

Unavailable since 2009, the Heritage Eagle remains a true best buy in a genuine US built pro-quality archtop guitar. Rarely seen on the vintage market, these handmade classics have always been a welcome companion for the working player. One only, call now.

Setup: This instrument is strung with medium gauge nickel flatwound strings. The guitar will accommodate lighter or heavier gauge strings, according to preference. String action is set at 4/64" to 5/64" at the 12th fret, with moderate relief. The action may be lowered or raised to your requirements with the adjustable bridge.

Case: Deluxe arched plush lined hardshell case.
