Notes: Martin's best-selling pearl-bordered dreadnought, the D-41 was introduced in 1969, and has remained a favorite model to this day. With its soundboard, peghead and soundhole trimmed with spectacular paua abalone, the Style 41 traces its roots to Martin's top-line Style 42, which made its debut back in 1870. The signature hexagon fingerboard inlays first appeared on the F-9 archtop of 1935, and were soon adopted by the legendary prewar D-45. The hex inlays, pearl trim, and vertical Martin peghead logo have been hallmarks of the D-41 since its inception as well.
This handsome instrument is built with prewar style appointments including scalloped bracing and the swirl tortoiseshell pickguard. In 100% original condition, the guitar has been lovingly maintained without pick, buckle, thumb or fingerboard wear, and has smooth low action with a solid ebony fingerboard over the comfy Martin low-profile neck. Enhancing its versatility, the guitar is equipped with an active under-saddle pickup system with endpin jack as well. With deeply resonant sustain and bell-like reverb, this exceptional guitar has the classic voice for which the rosewood dreadnought is so justly renowned. One only: call now.
Setup: This instrument is strung with medium gauge bronze strings (.013-.056). The guitar will accommodate lighter or heavier gauge strings, according to preference.
Case: Original deluxe Martin black fitted hardshell case.
