Materials: Solid bookmatched handcarved fine grain spruce top; solid handcarved bookmatched AAA tiger-flame maple back and sides with Venetian cutaway; tiger flame maple neck with walnut centerstripes; solid ebony fingerboard with block mother of pearl inlays; abalone torch and headstock logo; 5-ply body and neck binding; bound f-holes; solid bone nut.

Hardware: Hardware includes gold Gibson '57 Classic humbucking pickup, 5-ply bound tortoise pickguard; Gibson gold bell volume and tone knobs; engraved gold tailpiece with Wes Mongomery nameplate; gold Gibson Deluxe tuners, compensated adjustable ebony bridge with pearl inlaid foot; adjustable truss rod.

Notes: At the top of virtually everyone's short list, the great Wes Montgomery was arguably the most influential jazz guitarist of the 1960's. Introduced in 1993, this version of the legendary L-5CES is a faithful rendition of the master's own instrument, built with the single humbucking pickup, in just the right place.

100% original, this striking guitar has all factory hardware and finish, with the back, sides and neck all extravagantly figured, with deep bookmatched tiger flame maple. Carefully maintained, the instrument is free of pick, buckle, thumb or fingerboard wear, with only a few incidental nicks in the lustrous Cremona sunburst finish.

The neck has a comfy medium 'D' profile, neither too skinny nor overly full, with smooth low action over a fresh high-precision setup. The voice is warm, rich and sweet, with the timeless tone that made Mr. Montgomery's records enduring classics to this day. A great working guitar, complete with its original deluxe black Gibson logo plush lined hardshell case.

Although we're not at liberty to disclose the identity of the former owner of this beauty, we guarantee that whomever the new lucky owner may be, they'll get quite a chuckle out of it. A fitting tribute to the Man With the Golden Thumb: one only, call now.

Setup: This instrument is strung with medium gauge roundwound nickel strings. The guitar will accommodate lighter or heavier gauge strings, according to preference. String action is set at 4/64" to 5/64" at the 12th fret, with moderate relief. The action may be lowered or raised to your requirements with the adjustable bridge.
