Body size at lower bout: 17" Scale length: 25" Nut Width: 1 11/16" Body Depth: 3 1/4"
Finish: Cherry sunburst, nitrocellulose lacquer type.
Materials: Arched tiger flame maple body; 3 piece flame maple neck; solid ebony fingerboard; solid bone nut.
Hardware: Kent Armstrong floating humbucking pickup; gold Schaller 16x1 tuners, compensated adjustable ebony bridge; solid ebony pickguard and tailpiece; volume control, endpin jack.
Notes: A true classic of the bebop era, the full-depth Gibson ES-350 was introduced in 1947 and produced for only nine years, until 1956. A favorite of jazz greats including Barney Kessel and Tal Farlow, the 350 incorporated a 17" L-5 style Venetian cutaway body with a flame maple laminate body, and featured a longer scale neck than that found on later Gibson electrics.
This handsome guitar by Philadelphia luthier Arthur Napolitano is inspired by its legendary predecessor, with a sumptuous laminate body including a tiger flame top, sides and neck and intensely figured quilted maple back. An ideal guitar for the working player, the Jazz Box is solidly crafted to resist both feedback and the rigors of the road. A Napolitano logo Kent Armstrong floating humbucking pickup is installed in the neck position, with the fat, sweet tone and whisper smooth fidelity for which they are widely renowned.
This example has been maintained in superb condition, without pick, buckle, thumb or fret wear. The neck profile is an easy gentle D, with smooth low action on a solid ebony fingerboard from a fresh high-precision setup. The voice of the instrument is rich and warm, with classic 50's bop tone. With hand-crafted, vintage style quality at a factory price, this stunning guitar is a go-to instrument for the hard working player.
A true handbuilt classic, and very rarely seen on the vintage market. One only, call now.
Setup: This instrument is strung with medium gauge nickel strings (.012-.054). The guitar will accommodate lighter or heavier gauge strings, according to preference. String action is set at 4/64" to 5/64" at the 12th fret, with moderate relief. The action may be lowered or raised to your requirements with the adjustable bridge.
Case: Deluxe black plush lined arched hardshell case.
