Notes: The guitars made by the Paul Reed Smith company are among the most influential and highly coveted electric instruments made anywhere by anyone. The PRS Hollowbody series was introduced in 1998, to create a new type of instrument with the warmth of a hollow soundchamber and the sustain and feedback resistance of a solid body. The Hollowbody I enhanced acoustic tone with a solid carved spruce soundboard, and two powerful PRS humbuckers.

At a featherweight 4lb, 14oz, the Hollowbody I is blissfully lighter than contemporary solid bodies, and a positive delight to hold: it simply floats on the lap or the strap. This example is in exceptionally fine condition, with all original blonde finish, free of pick, buckle, thumb or fingerboard wear. Smooth, low action over a fresh high-precision setup, on PRS' beloved 'Wide-Fat' neck profile, full and solid in the hand. A special bonus is the stacked master tone pot, which adds a pickup blend knob, for smooth analog mixing of the twin PRS humbuckers, vastly enhancing the variety of tonal colors.

Deeply resonant, and exceptionally comfortable, the PRS Hollowbody 1 is a particularly versatile instrument for the demanding player. One only: call now.

Setup: The frets have been precision leveled, recrowned and polished as needed; trussrod tension and neck relief adjusted; bridge height adjusted; bridge compensation set; string slots at nut and bridge inspected and recut as necessary; bridge foot contour inspected and fit to top as necessary; bridge wheels and tuners lubricated; fingerboard and bridge oiled; body and neck cleaned and hand polished.

This instrument is strung with medium gauge nickel roundwound strings (.011-.049). The guitar will accommodate lighter or heavier gauge strings, according to preference. String action is set at 4/64" to 5/64" at the 12th fret, with moderate relief for acoustic playing with medium strings. The action may be lowered or raised to your requirements with the adjustable bridge.
